Taxes

As you have probably noticed, there is no particular flow to this blog, the theme here is me, and not any particular subject, and right now, i’m doing my taxes! *takes migraine pill* of course being as its about me, not everything here will interesting to everyone, but that being said, on with the post.

Ok, i’m doing my taxes, and well, my roomate made more money then me, claimed just as many dependents as me, and the government took more money from me? this means i’ll get more back right?? we’ll see, this is the first time i’ve ever had to do out of state taxes in addition to my regular taxes, and oregon has some weird tax laws…. *i live in washington, where the only state tax is sales tax* i’m use to one form, fill it out, done, i don’t even know where to begin on oregon, i think i’ll end up going to H&R block or something… god, my head hurts

the hits keep climbing

Not sure what i did, but i’m getting a lot of referrals to my blog now…. I got a record number of hits yesterday, and i’m thinking to myself, what is so special here. anyway, thanks all for visiting. now on to greater things.

got into working on MiX again in my spare time, the linux distro causes a headache after a while and i really needed to take a break. anyway, i decided that i should start finishing laying everything out, so i worked on the shell a little bit. Defined some new commands and what not. i’m also plotting out how the filesystem is going to work. i’m hoping to do some really cool stuff in that region, i really don’t want to spill any secrets just yet, because i haven’t gotten a definate layout on the design. i really don’t want to code anything till i got some real direction, so i’m focusing on how i want everything to look and feel.

Anyway, i figure the best thing to do is to program some filesystem tools for linux so that i can creat the native fs. once i’ve done that, i’ll go ahead and make a disk image, and load it up into qemu. i’m still learning how to do a lot of this stuff, keep in mind, because this is the first time i’ve ever tried to make an OS from scratch. I hope it works ok. the only thing that i’m really concerned about is the assembler bits. luckilly i found a few good tutorials to get me started. i’ll probably make some minor applications and spend about a year without before i start producing the first pieces of the project. i’m hoping to have a bootable system in about 3-4 years, depending on work, and how fast i can absorb the material.

anyway, i guess thats enough for now… but i hope you all come back real soon.
